In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Springfield; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

I usually never post upon bad experiences I move forward but it seems as if each time Iβve been through the drive-thru at Panda Express on North Dirksen the young lady who usually works it seems to have an attitude. This time specifically I was trying to ask if there was Soy sauce in the bag after receiving my food and she acted as if she didnβt hear me and hurried up and turned her back. Once again, this is not the first time Iβve experienced a similar situation with this young lady. Everyone should be treated with respect and employees should at least act like they care about the customers instead of acting as if they donβt want to be bothered. Bad/disrespectful service makes me prefer to eat elsewhere no matter how good or bad the meal is. Do better or find better.

I had a to go pick up order and the service was out of this world! Everything was hot and the order was correct! Every buisness needs a worker like Mike. His service was incredible and kindness was refreshing!

So I rarely visit the Dirksen location because I live on the west side of town. The one by the mall is always fantastic. But I happened to be working on Dirksen today. Not only did I pay for the food. But I also paid 5 dollars to a coworker to pick it up for me. Are we for real with this Rangoon???

One of the better pandas I've been to, very clean, and the food display was awesome. Even though it was busy, the food trays on display were full and freshly stocked. They seem to be well staffed. The food tasted good. We will eat here again next time we pass through this town.
